Welcome News from Rex

An announcement from Regional Express (Rex) Airlines confirms it will continue to provide a Grafton Sydney air service for the immediate future. This is welcome news and one that should be supported by the flying public of the Clarence Valley, according to Mayor Richie Williamson.
Rex Airlines said earlier this year its triangulated Grafton-Taree-Sydney service was at risk because of falling passenger numbers, but has announced it will keep the service running at least until its board meets later in the year.
Cr Williamson said the announcement was a positive sign and encouraged those intending to fly to Sydney make sure they considered Rex as a possible carrier.
“I thank the chairman and the board for their ongoing support of the Clarence Regional Airport and look forward to working with them to secure a direct flight from the Clarence to Sydney,” he said.
“Rex has shown faith in the Clarence and it is up to the flying public of the Clarence to return that faith.”
