Sample Food Festival was heralded a great success by organisers. A record number of visitors attended this year’s delicious event.
The rain held off and there was plenty to tickle the taste buds from millet burgers for the vegetarians to pulled pork for the carnivores and so much more in between with culinary heritages from around the world well represented.
There were cookery displays and amazing tastings of local produce.
The judging of the $5 and $10 tasting plate was done by Alex Herbert, Darren Simpson, Luke Hines and Scott Gooding. Winners were announced on the day and were Puremelt Chocolate for their $10 taster plate of Orange & Almond Chocolate, a Honeycomb Chocolate & a Puremelt Brownie.
In the $5 category desert queen Katrina Kanetani collected the $5 Golden Fork with a Japanese Style Cheesecake with Davidson plum, Quandong and Almond Crumble which was a real hit amongst the crowd and judges alike.
“Overall reports from exhibitors and the crowds were very positive” said Remy Tancred – Festival Director.
