New Mentoring Program for Women in Busines

Posted:

The Women in Business Mentoring Program is a dynamic combination of skills works shops & nurturing mentoring. The aim of the program is to assist women in the region to grow their businesses and network with like-minded people, building their skills & contacts for the future.

For an investment of only $50 the progam consists of two workshops and at least three meetings with a mentor.

Run by Small Business Advisor, Gillian Jones, who herself was a mentee with a long term mentor for her Byron Bay fabric importing business in the mid 1990’s. She recognises the value and knowledge which can be gained by talking with other business people who have been through the trials and joys of running their own businesses.

With a broad range of experience in many businesses including hospitality, retail, importing, tourism, education and manufacturing, Gillian can help and facilitate many women into new business ventures.

“By developing a “barefoot” financial and business planning process, the viability of a creative idea can be realised well before spending valuable resources on testing if that wonderful idea might be successful or not. Dealing with compliance, business structure, marketing and planning details will ensure practical knowledge will be gained throughout this program.” Ms Jones commented.

The first workshop is on 29th April and the second on 20th May at the Council Conference Room, Station Street, Mullumbimby.

The course runs from 4.30pm to 8pm and child care is available, for more information email: smallbusiness@nortecltd.com.au.

These workshops are part of the Regional Activation Program from the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner in conjunction with Byron Shire Council and NORTEC Ltd.
