After a highly successful shop local campaign late last year the Mullumbimby Chamber has gained new momentum and the new board of executives plan to implement a series of objectives within the business and wider community that have been identified by the Community and Economic Development Plan.
This extensive plan was produced in conjunction with the NSW Department of State and Regional Development and identifies improvements, both economic and community based, that are necessary for the sustainable growth and development of the town.
One of the major objectives will be to develop a brand and distinct identity for the town in line with the community’s vision. The branding will enable the Chamber to promote businesses under a united banner and will raise the profile of the town locally and nationally. The Chamber is also looking to co-ordinate a calendar of events for the town and create a signature event that encompasses the unique and diverse characteristics of the town and community.
