Nortec and Lismore City Council have partnered up to cultivate their leaders of tomorrow.
They are calling all young entrepreneurs and future leaders to apply for the Lismore Future Leaders program in 2016.
The program aims to be both challenging and inspiring, tapping into the energy and insight of our future leaders and entrepreneurial businesses. So if you’re a young entrepreneur or you’re a business owner who employs a young person you feel fits the bill then you’re invited to step up and become engaged in steering Lismore City into the future.
Ellen Kronen, Program Facilitator with Nortec comments: “It’s an exciting opportunity enabling participants to form new networks and enhance their leadership and business skills. Our future leaders will have the opportunity to work with, and learn from business and community leaders across industry sectors in a series of hands-on workshops. Key to the program is “the pitch” where participants will pitch project ideas to our own “Dragon’s Den” with the successful ideas underpinning the 9 month program, giving participants a real-world project that will ultimately be handed over to the local community.”
The opportunity to develop the program has its foundations in the Imagine Lismore 10 Year Plan and it’s well supported by Lismore City Council, NORTEC, and a steering committee of local business leaders from Summerland Credit Union, WCA Accountants, Thomas Noble Russell, Crowe Horwath and Bennett Constructions.
“This all about the betterment of Lismore and stemming the tide of our young professionals – regardless of industry – leaving town. We want to keep that energy here!” Ms Kronen said.
If you have someone within your organisation who demonstrates imagination and leadership qualities, would like to talk about scholarship opportunities, or if you would like to know more about the Lismore Future Leaders program, contact Ellen Kronen, Program Facilitator on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0408 898 972.
