There was glitter, lingerie, flower power and pink flamingos galore throughout the young falls festival goers. The crowd were having a blast saying goodbye to 2017 and welcoming in 2018.
Day 1 was a stunning warm day and night and the ground was dry and dusty for the big night
The main stage performances kicked off with Darryl Brathwaite who had the crowd in the palm of his hand and kept them dancing throughout his set. Joking with the crowd he quipped ‘You can’t have horses yet, ‘coz then it’ll all be over.’
The young crowd of revellers went ballistic when he did his finale even though most weren’t even a twinkle in their parents eyes when it originally topped the charts, they sang and danced the afternoon away.
A stunning warm evening of entertainment followed on with Brisbane 4 piece band, Jungle Giants who kept everyone on their feet with their electronic mix dance tunes and quirky style.
Then, as darkness fell, on came Thundamentals with their hip hop social commentary which had the crowd going wild. The boys had a ball working the stage and dubbed it their best gig ever.
The night continued with Foster the People making the ’80s look cool with full moustache skinny jeans and zig zag dance moves working with a very slick set.
The night peaked with Flume bringing in the New Year with all the stage gadgetry and gimmicks you could ask for.
A happy crowd of 25,000 made their way to beds to rest up for the next 2 days of entertainment.
