Anzac Day 2015

Saturday saw moving ceremonies up and down the coast commemorating the lives of those who fought in past wars and also supporting those who still fight for freedom today.

In Tweed the dawn heralded a re-enactment of the Gallipoli landing and the sunrise provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony at Elephant Rock.

Villages and towns across the Northern Rivers saw flypasts of both modern and vintage aircraft and there were great turnouts across the generations to remember those who gave their lives.

Around 150 riders and their horses from across the Clarence Valley re-enacted the Anzac Light Horse enlistment gathering in Copmanhurst and then riding into Grafton on Friday in preparation for Saturday’s parade.
