NORBEC Helps Local Businesses
According to the Northern Rivers BEC thousands of Northern Rivers owners suffered downturns in their businesses as a result of the regional and Queensland floods.
“Northern Rivers businesses typically suffered downturns in their sales, margins, loss of bookings or stock” said Tony Zillig NORBEC’s CEO.
“That’s why we’re offering a business workshop that will arm our regional business owners with skills essential to rebuilding their sales and profit margins” said Mr Zillig.
Participants learn the financial fundamentals they need, how to understand cash flow and budgets, and how to address financial opportunities and crises.
“The Trading in Turbulent Times workshop is a practical, action learning workshop designed specifically for local businesses” said Tony Zillig. “For many business owners understanding all their financial needs is like putting a jigsaw together. Until all the pieces are in place, it’s very hard to improve sales and profitability” said Mr Zillig.
The downturn in tourism from this region left many industry dependent businesses trading through a turbulent time.
The Natural Disaster Assistance Program executed by NORBEC currently focuses its attention where natural disaster hit hardest: The bottom line. “We are proud to be a part of this program, with only 10 organizations in the whole of Australia, assisting disaster struck businesses.” says Mr Zillig “Our aim is to present business owners with a very practical approach to their financials.”
This government funded program puts those businesses back on top, by providing vital education and free, professional consulting services.
“Come along to this invaluable workshop, providing you with expert advise and many opportunities to network with fellow business owners in a similar situation” Tony Zillig advised.
The Trading in Turbulent Times workshop will be delivered in Byron Bay Tuesday 18 October, Kingscliff on Wednesday 19 October and Grafton Tuesday 25 October 2011. The time for all locations 9.15am for 9.30am – 12.30pm, and cost $20.00 including GST (Tea/Coffee, Biscuits)
Interested business owners can register online at admin@norbec.com.au or call Jacqui Danielson on 02 6622 1933.
